Need help getting a reasonable airfare Nyc to Kansas city 24 May to 7 Jun --Flexible

Hi People,
Firstly, if this post is in the wrong Forum, I request the moderator to move it to the appropriate one coz I need the right people to see it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I have been careless enough to not have booked my ticket from NY to Kansas City & now the prices are 375+ due to the Long-weekend
Can FT'ers help me get a good fare (<275 maybe)
I can be flexible enough to fly any day after 23 May (Tuesday) & flyback on a next Wed or whichever day is cheaper.
Will booking at a specific time in night get me a good fare?
I would be open to going to a closer airport like say St Louis.(4 hr drive) if it saves me considerably.
Please help.

Regards,
cool_guy

you can always put in a bid at Priceline!

You can always put in a bid at Priceline. You won't have any control over which airline you end up on, or at what time during a 24 hour period you'll be scheduled, but if they accept your bid at your price ... you've got your ticket. Please be aware that taxes will probably be on top of your bid.

Read the excellent guidelines for bidding for air travel on Priceline at: http://p070.ezboard.com/fpricelinean...opicID=2.topic

You could also try onetravel.com I find them cheaper than the airline websites.

www.kayak.com can sometimes (not always) find some bargains too.

Or use the ITA lookup and play around with your dates: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/prego

Cool guy....

You mentioned St. Lous....a four hour drive. A real longshot, but see if by some odd chance you could get something to Des Moines or Omaha....each of which is about three hours or a little less to KC if you drive it. Have you checked out WN (Southwest) out of Islip to Kansas City or Omaha. Might involve a change of plaes but could be worth looking into.

Thanks people,
I am still looking, & my priceline bid is 250 currently.
Still checking all those options you suggested from time to time. (Its such a pain that airlines change prices frequently )
Thanks again,
cool_guy
