I'm trying to purchase 2 tickets to Wisconsin. Departing from Atlanta, Ga. on Dec. 19, returning on Dec. 23. I'd like to fly in to Green Bay, as that's where my hotel is. MidWest Airlines is good for me, but here's my problem. If I purchase 1 single ticket, it's $270. If I try to purchase 2 tickets @ once, they are $320 each. Is it a bad idea to purchase 2 tickets individually @ $270 each, or is it a better idea to purchase them together @ $320 each. .....my other option is to fly in to Milwaukee @ $220 per person, & drive up. Hoping there's not a major blizzard

If you buy them separately you'll likely not get the second one for the lower price, but the higher price. So I don't see any reason not to book them separately. Look into the credit card - when I applied there was a $99 companion certificate (books same class as a standard award, I believe). Also search around for any 10% offers...YX has a lot running around usually.

oops...forgot about the rest. Driving from MKE isn't bad at all. While weather is unpredictable, outside of this December, we've rarely had much snow in Dec here in MKE (a bit more up north). and if the weather is bad, you might save time driving (depending how you feel in snow). You could also check NW into ATW (I think they still fly there) - that's not far at all, but easily could be more expensive.

Don't forget about ATW (Appleton, WI). It's about 30 miles southwest of GRB. Much closer than MKE.

You may also want to compare rental car costs at the various airports, since that can affect the total cost of your trip, too.

what is YX? ....what's the deal with Pricline? You put in what you are willing to pay, & they bill your card? Does that mean you can get the tickets for whatever you put the $ at.......I know that's not right.

Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" model is a bidding system. You put in dates and airports and the price you want to pay and your credit card number. They then decide whether or not to "accept" your price. If they accept it, they immediately bill your credit card and reveal which flights you're on. If they reject it, you don't get a plane ticket. You can try again using the same parameters with the same or a different price a few days later. Or you can try again immediately if you change something else about your bid other than price.

The Name Your Own Price model does not allow you to choose the airline, routing or exact times of your flights. It does allow you to set certain parameters, however.
