Dublin To Prague?
My son, finishing up a semester in Maynooth, Ireland, wants to visit Prague later this month. Ryanair doesn't seem to fly there. The best fares we found (so far) were about $300 on Czech Airlines and $430 on Aer Lingus, for May 21-26.
I thought flying to Frankfurt and taking the train to Prague might work, but ... would that be the best way? Suggestions appreciated!

Aerlingus has a fare of $187 US (146 Euro), but the dates are 5/24-26. Not the dates he wants, but the price is better. The return flight to Dublin leaves Prague at 8:00 p.m, so he has a good amount of time that day.

Booking now for the end of May, $300 is about as good as you'll get. Searching dates around 21-26 May, the cheapest I could find was only $15-20 less without shortening his trip significantly.
As Prague is now a year round destination, especially for short breaks like your son wants to do, it means all the cheap seats are booked months in advance direct or via.
He could get to FRA for on EI for $165, but even a cheap rail ticket from there will bring your total back up toward the $270-300 mark.
I can't find flights to any nearer cities with onward travel by rail that would bring the total down any further.

Have you tried Malev via Budapest? I found this option last night when checking out trips for next March
p.s. does anybody know what the weather is like in Prague in mid-March.. i.e. cold, snow or mild & dry??

To be honest, any of the options b/w DUB-LHR are pretty bad 
, but I choose BD ... just for the *A points (ie belong to AC program).I'd choose DUB-FRA on LH if I could, but the connections to Canada for me aren't optimal as well.

Germanwings ( http://www.germanwings.com ) via CGN ( Cologne ) would be another LCC option.
