Stansted "Connection"

I know that you can't do a real connection in Stansted, so question is...

Arrive at 0700 - MaxJet, need to make 0845 RyanAir flight. I have a US passport, will try to carry on but to be safe assume I'm checking a bag.

Is it gonna be tight?

Yes, it's tight, but doable. STN doesn't have the massive influx of long-haul flights in the morning that the other London airports do.

You can help your case by a) checking in online on Ryanair and b) pre-paying the checked luggage on Ryanair if you plan on taking any.

Bear in mind that if you miss your Ryanair flight check-in cut-off, expect nothing. They will not check you in a second later, and will not, as a matter of course, put you on a later flight.

They will (space permitting) - but you have to pay a rebooking fee (is it 25?) plus the difference between the fare you paid and the lowest available fare on the later flight.

Well... Online checkin won't work for me. No EU passport.

Online Check-In Conditions:

* Each passenger MUST present a valid EU/EEA issued passport at airport security and the departure gate.

If there is a later flight and you are booking early enough - buy a ticket as an insurance policy. This can work out cheaper than having to pay the change fee plus fare difference (if required).
