Bkk - Kul Problem

well, LH run this route for Ł105 if the ticket is issued in asia, as it happens I live in the UK and if I try to buy this ticket from the UK they want 273.

I can get low cost fares for 100 but I would much rather use LH for the little bit extra, because I know they will depart and arrive with minimal hassle.

Any ideas for me to get this cheap ticket?

I looked at the fare rules of the ticket and there doesn't seem to be any advance purchase rule, so... you could show up in Bangkok and buy the ticket there and then as long as there are seats in the required fare bucket (Q class) ^

Advanced reservations and ticketing restrictions:

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SECTORS.
TICKETING MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 72 HOURS AFTER
RESERVATIONS ARE MADE.

yes it is.

Another option seems to be to try a BKK travel agent. I have found www.greentravel2000.com to be quite good. I read their rules of payment, and they don't seem to say anything about not accepting international credit cards. You could contact them just to make sure.

I tried buying tickets on this exact route/airline last fall, what a rip! In my opinion the LH plane is the best (a brand new Airbus 340), MH has older planes and charges the same amount, and I dont think the TG planes on this route are flagship products either. Ultimately I tried several Thai travel agents and they were not able to beat Expedia by more than a couple of $$. We had heard over and over again how a Thai travel agent would be able to get us dirt cheap fares b/c this was ex-bkk. We even were planning to have the tickets dropped at our hotel. Ultimately we paid a little more than the (seemingly expensive) coach fare and went for the nice lie flat seat. Boy that was nice! I think we tried all the various LH country sites and ultimately found one that had about a $40 better deal and we bought there.
We decided against Air Asia because we were connecting to MH in KUL and werent sure if Air Asia could check our bags thru. I'd just take them if you are trying to save $$.

Was it because you were no in BKK when you were purchasing the ticket? The non discounted, published fares when you are buying in BKK is less than half of the equivalent fare when buying abroad. I am not sure why airlines do this

It never hurts to try

However, I think the CC would probably be rejected.
