Spring Break Window
What's the typical spring break window for the airlines? I'm trying to work in one more long weekend field trip probably to Europe somewhere (though not LHR) in the first half. I eyeballed April fares to various places and they were all >$800 RT Y from ORD. Is there a date that these start going down for a bit or does it stay this way until the end of the summer season?

Spring Break in my community is next week: 3/20-3/25. As I was coming through CVG last week, someone told me some Ohio schools were out this week, but I would expect a later week for northern areas. I think SB will be over for everyone a week after Easter, 4/16.

here is a listing of many major schools sping break schedules. http://www.tripsmarter.com/panamacit...sbcalendar.htm
The peak seems to be this week and then winds down. Of course, many elementary/secondary schools then have their own April vacations and in early May most colleges get out and then the shoulder season in May and early June. it has been my experience that summer pricing usually starts June 7-8, or so, but I have found $500-600 BOS - Europe in late April- early June. ORD prices may be higher.
