Drive-through in a cab?
Just curious, anyone else ever have their cab stop by a drive-through on the way from the airport to their hotel, to pick up dinner?
I used to do this all the time when flying to DC. I was staying in an area where the closest restaurant was like a mile walk, which I wasn't really keen on doing at night after a full day's travel. So every time I went, I'd have them to stop somewhere to pick up a bite. Just curious if anyone else has done this.

A few years ago in New Orleans, we had the cab go to one of the drive-thru daquiri stands.

If they had In-N-Out where I'm from, I would have. Sadly, I've only done it at McDonald's. But I've definitely done it. I always ask the driver if he wants something.

yup I do that sometimes, and I also usually ask the driver if he wants a burger or something.
One time going to ORD from the double tree, I asked the shuttle bus driver if he would stop by a pizza parlour to grab a chicago deep dish pizza and if he did so, i'd buy him lunch. It was a good pizza.

When I was in NY we landed at LGA very late. I had the cab stop at Mama's of Corona. It is the best Italian sub you can get in all of NY. The cab driver got one too.
Since he got one, why did I have to pay for the wait time

Not a cab... but during my years playing hockey, our team was on a road trip to Stanford, and arrived at the DT near SFO late at night, after the hotel restaurant closed. Thinking outside the box, I asked the hotel shuttle driver if he could take us to something nearby. He said "sure!" and about 15 of us hopped on and he took us to Denny's. He gave us his cell number and told us to call when we were done. ^
Of course, everyone contributed towards the tip pool for him
