Financial Times article today states "...speculation continues that United could eventually combine with Houston-based Continental."

Is this common speculation?

Hope the latter subsumes the former!

I don't think it will happen but I could always dream of all the travel possibilities my combined mileage programs would garner. I have been elite with both of them at different times and they both have good and bad points. I always found it much easier to get my rewqard tickets on UAL then on CO.
