Collect call from UK?
I know that this must be incredibly basic and obvious but my googling skills seem to have left me today.
How do I make a collect call (reverse charge) from the UK to the US or Canada? I've asked several colleagues here and none of them know - they just know that it must be incredibly expensive
.
Thanks,
Dr. PITUK

this thread has some info on making cheap calls from the UK to the US.
If you want to reverse the charges you need to dial 0800 reverse. It is outstandingly expensive, but if you know someone rich enough to cover the charges then I guess it's no big deal.

Just down the road from you Pit in Newton Abbot !
Can't say I've ever reversed calls to the US or Canada but I use these guys
http://www.telediscount.co.uk/accessnumbers.php
Current rates are 1p a minute to landlines and mobiles in both countries and no need to sign up or prepay anything.

.For Canada, see http://www.infocanadadirect.com/engl/5_0/index.asp
Keep in mind that the party you are calling will likely be charged at a rate of a few dollars/minute.

Thanks for the information. I'll give the ATT number a try. From what I can tell on the 0800 Reverse web page, it only deals with domestic calls
.
Thanks,

When I had trouble using my Amex in Russia, I called them collect using MCI's local access number in Moscow. Didn't have any trouble, but I'm sure Amex paid a fortune for the call.

Seeing your based in UK and trying to call collect to US, my question is are you trying to bankrupt or exact revenge on the person you will be calling in the US ?. I can promise you whoever accepts a collect call from the UK would be billed several dollars per minute plus connection fees taxes etc.
If you do it though, you will make that persons local carrier very happy.
