Connection Advice Please
My mom is coming into DFW today from LGW on BA 2193. It was originally scheduled to arrive at DFW at 1407 CST, but it left Gatwick an hour late and is now due to arrive at 1523. She is scheduled to connect on AA 477 scheduled to depart at 1605. What are the chance of clearing immigration, customs and making the 1605 to PHX--slim to none?
I checked out the next AA flight--it's sold out also
What are the chances of BA endorsing her ticket to an HP flight if the delay was mechanically related rather than mother nature? In case she misses her AA flight there is an 1805 HP departure to PHX that has a few seats left.
Sidenote, my mom has no elite status on AA/One World.
Thanks in advance!
Ian

The delay was probably weather related, weve been having snow here.I have made a connection that tight at DFW from LGW but you have to get to immigration fast and hope for no previous flights and an easy gate to connect to.
Have you checked if the PHX flight is leaving on time, if your mother is elderly could she get help, which will take her to the front of both the immigration and security queues.

The 772 from LGW came in at 3.30. The outbound 1605 flight was delayed until 1645. Nonetheless, by the time they got to the gate after running at 1640, the gate was closed and they lost their seats. The AA agent told my mom "we don't care that you were on BA and that they are One World, we give no preference and we couldn't hold the plane for you". If I didn't hear it myself (I was listening to my mom talk to the agent) I wouldn't have believed it myself.
They stood by for the 1800, no go. They are standing by right now for the next one, but are 14 on the list for standby
They are confirmed on the 2100 but unfortunately they will miss my party
BA told them it was mx, not wx, that delayed BA 2193 today. I got on the phone with the AA agent that just told my mom she doesn't give a .... and asked her if she could please endorse their ticket on a HP 1800 departure that had availability. No way in hell.
Oddly enough, AA held the LAS bound a/c for the inbound late LGW travelers, but not PHX. Oh well.

sorry it didnt work out for you, had your mum been on AA51 it might have been a different story. The Oneworld alliance seems to mean nothing when BA and AA both fly the same route.
