Immigration in Canada

Hi all.

I will be flying from Heathrow to Vancouver for Christmas. I will be changing planes in Toronto.
My question, if someone can answer, is will I go through customs and immigration in Toronto or Vancouver?

Usually one would always do this at the first airport in a country, but other countries do it at the final destination.
I`m just curious.

Thanks.

Since you will be landing in YVR(first port of entry), you will have to go through Immigration and Customs procedures in YVR and then proceed onto YYZ. The flight from YVR to YYZ is a domestic flight and thus no processing needed in YYZ. It would have been the same if your onward journey was YVR and you were flying in from LHR to YYZ.(customs in this case will be in YYZ)

Toronto - You'll go through customs and then re-check your bags onto your (domestic) flight to Vancouver. You'll arrive at the domestic arrivals area in Vancouver.

I think you mis-read the OP. He's flying LHR-YYZ-YVR. YYZ will be his first port of entry so he'll clear customs in YYZ and fly domestic to YVR.

My sincere apologies, yes you do see immigration at the first port of entry and that would be YYZ in your case. Sorry mate jyst misread.
