Seat map/availability

Hi. I've done an extensive search for this on the forums for this, and I haven't found an answer.

Sometimes I want to see how crowded a flight is going to be (more for bump posibilities than for upgrades since I have no status). I usually check the seat maps on Orbitz/Expedia. Looking at some of the specifics cited in some of the posts leads me to believe there is a better way, but I have not been able to figure out how.

Is there a better site to do this? Are people quoting from expertflyer which I am not a member of?

Thanks in advance.

Seatmaps can be very misleading. Try the KVS tool. It is excellent

The seat maps on ExpertFlyer, for over 100 airlines, are taken directly from the airlines through our GDS's on those flights and in those cabins that they make available for pre-reserved seating.

We have just added a new feature that allow you to view from one to three cabins on a particular flight on one screen to get a view of how "crowded a flight is going to be".
