Would this be interesting, or a waste of time?

Over the past 15 years, I've been saving most of my boarding passes. I'm not a huge traveller, so I probably only have 150 collected. Some are from defunct airlines such as Pan Am; others are from exoctic airlines such as Sakha Avia.

Anyway, I've had the thought for some time now to scan them all (already done this part actually) and post them all on a web site where they could be viewed by categories: cities, countries, airlines, defunct airlines, etc. I could also set it up so that other people could submit their boarding passes for display.

Personally, I think it would interesting to view boarding passes from all around the world (and from the past), but maybe I'd be the only visitor to such a site...

I'd love any feedback and/or suggestions about this idea so I don't spend all the time to set it up and find out no one is interested.

Thanks for you consideration.

Hi POH!

Personally I like the idea. Perhaps you could add a built in functionality where people can upload their own BPs and thus create some sort of community?

I for one would be happy to contribute! (BPs, I mean )

Kind regards,
Maurits

I have seen people sell all sorts of aviation memorabilia at airshows - I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain I've seen boarding cards at such memorabilia stalls.

I've also seen aviation memorabilia in museums.

I'm sure there would probably be some interest.

Sure, random things like www.airlinemeals.net and even www.beautifulagony.com are out there, I am sure there would be a following.

I've already reserved the domain: boardingpassarchive.com

I do the same. Ideally, it's for momentos but I never have the time to be nostalgic. In reality, it's probably the pack rat in me.

Do you think it would be a problem to display boarding passes with people's names still on them? I would have to blur FF acount #'s, but what about people's names?

If you ask for permission from the people whose BPs you want to display, this would probably not be a problem.

IIRC in the past few months someone posted a link to a website that has hundreds or possibly thousands of boarding passes (not just one person's).
