Elite Lice (lice with status)

Snobs?

Oh dear, let's not get rid of the "gate lice." I like them. I need them. Without them standing there needing to be politely asked to "excuse me, please," as I jostle through the thickest clump, there might be nobody to really notice me as I flaunt my superior status by boarding first.

What's the value in being king if there are no peasants?
Exactly! Otherwise we couldn't be elitist pricks if we didn't have underlings to piss and moan about and make us feel better about ourselves.

When flying in the back of the bus, I want to get on before the bin's fill up and I can't find a place for my modest sized carry-on, and I've often seen the GAs abandon the boarding order part way through.

When flying up front, I appreciate it enough that I think it would be a little curlish to deny the gate lice their little contest.

On the subject of boarding order, how about boarding people in the reverse order of the amount of cr*p they're trying to cart on board. It's incredible the amount of stuff some people are allowed to bring on.

After thinking about this question, off an on, for a few weeks, I was going to throw out, "Lice Combs."

Thinking deeper: "Nit Pickers?" I guess that implies that the picking duty is to weed and clear out the young nits before they achieve gate lice adulthood? :D

Gate Lice  I don't fly enough for it to really piss me off but I've had a few experiences where I've got a little annoyed by the deaf/ignorant/just out to be a PITA (delete as appropriate) people who make something straightforward and easy an annoyance.

Essentially, you have made me be the last person off the plane because I have to swim against the tide to get by bags, whereas you would have just had to carry your 5 shopping bags another 10 rows.

 I recently flew AMS-LGW and I had boarded and was in the last row of business class. A guy seated in coach decided to come across the curtain halting boarding of the other passengers so he could play musical chairs with the busienss class passengers bags :td:

Gate lice

Worst infestation I have ever seen at B32 in ATL this morning for the ATL-PNS flight. Zone 1 lice boarded only to be replace for 25 or 30 others. I was in Zone 3 and had to fight my way through. A lady also in Zone 3 was yelling "Excuse me!" at the top of her lungs as I went down the jetway. It's getting to be the season and I think some of these were of the "Michigan SnowLice" genus.

Michigan suxs especially ones of the wolverine genus.
...which, of course, aren't half as bad as the spartan genus... ;)

Only some one from the same state Toledo is in would come up with a comment that dumb .... we'll know the truth in eight days from when I post this.

Ya, I know we've strayed off topic.

LAX Gatelice are the worst for NW.

Never saw so many people turned back when trying to board a plane (this was a 742).

Here's my thing. Why are so many people in such a hurry to sit in a flying metal tube for hours on end? The only time I rush ahead is if i'm carrying a bag that has to go overhead but unless i'm not, I just sit at the gate till they make the final boarding call.

I was finishing up a sandwich at IND one time and they called me for a final boarding call, I shouted and said i was finishing up so she smiled and said to 'hurry up.' I was also seated in F.

...Thank you...it's about time they enforce the baggage sizes. I know when I purchased mine I made darn sure it fit COs requirements. People are cramming bigger and bigger bags in the bins, or essentially carrying two carry-on luggage bags. Worst is on the RJs when even I can tell walking down the jetway that someone's bag will never fit. Even if they are in the exit row.

Though on most flights if they enforced carry-on size limits, most of first and a lot of Elites would be gate checking them.
