Broadway On Broadway

Any talker out there spent the afternoon at this event? As I will be in NYC between Sep 16-20 wondering if this is a good Free event to see.

Also with an event like this how crowded does it make doing other touristy stuff on the day eg trains taxis and generally getting from A to B?

I would suggest checking out the Talkin Broadway Forum. I am sure they can advise you on what time to get there and how much time to budget.

Have a great trip. If you will be there early on the 16th you might consider Shakespeare in the Park (Central Park) - one of my favorite free NYC experiences. Alas, I believe the current run closes on Sept 16. Whatever you see will be great though!

If the weather is good, over 50,000 people will be there, you need to get there early if you want to see the stage. I love it, when I'm not traveling that weekend (that's harvest time in Napa, so we are heading out there for some parties at the vineyards), we hit it. It's great if you have any interest in Broadway shows. A bunch of shows each do a number on a stage, the sound is piped way back.

http://www.broadwayonbroadway.com/ - I think that link should work.

I did actually go to this one year - I forgot until I saw those pix. As I recall, it was hard to see, but the audio was good, and it was a fun time.
