Writing a book

I don't know if you can help me, but I'm writing a book and need to know what a person would do if they went to meet a plane and the passenger did not arrive. In the book the airline is United, but I imagine that all airlines follow the same federal rules. Do you know anything about this, or could you direct me somewhere?

Welcome to Flyertalk Nikki.

First of all you might want to edit out your email address. Flyertalk has a built in function to send Private Messages or email to members. This will cut down on potential SPAM.

Second, the Itineraries Forum is probably not the best choice for your question. This is a place where members post their itineraries so that they might meet up with other Flyertalkers on the road. You'll probably receive a number of responses to your question in either the CommunityBuzz forum or in the United forum you can probably get detailed information to the specific airport.

Normally we can notify a moderator to move the thread, but I don't see who is the moderator of this forum.

You can still click on the report post icon on the lower left corner and one of our supermods, who can work in all forums, can move it.

As to the initial question, it's a bit confusing. Are you saying the plane landed, but the passenger wasn't on board? In that case, I'd probably try the person on their cellphone and then try them at home or at work. Or are you asking if the airline would tell if the passenger in question ever checked-in for the flight? Or are you saying what if the plane never arrived, as in it crashed?

Also, welcome to FlyerTalk.

I am really not sure where this best should go, so I am going to move it to TravelBuzz. They moderators there may have a better idea too!
