USAir upgrade
I am flying US Air BOS PHL LGW on a dividend miles ticket for which I traded 100,000 miles. It was a last minute thing so it cost more miles to get the seat. Half of the front cabin is empty over the Atlantic. Will USAir make the seats available for an upgrade at the gate? How much do you think it would be? Can it be done from Boston or will I have to do it in Philadelphia? thanks.

Good luck!

If you don't have status and trans-atlantic upgrade certificates, it's very unlikely. They are very stingy on trans-atlantic upgrades, even for elites.
