I am thinking about getting a priority pass vs. a specific airlines' club membership. I was wondering what people think of the membership and if they would go back to just a specfic club membership. Also do you find you spend more with this type of membership because of guest fees???

Be careful with Priority Pass. It's usefulness really depends on what airline you fly. In the US they tend to use UA, HP, CO, and DL lounges the most. If you don't fly those airlines, or an airline that uses the same terminal you'll have to leave and re-enter security to access a lounge. With a connection of less than two hours it wouldn't be worth it.

It depends on your itineraries - works well for me as all the clubs at my home airport, SEA, are accessible (although the Crown Room is a really long hike for other than DL or AA flights!). Came in very handy at BOS last week. I was transferring from AS to CapeAir; CapeAir wasn't going to be staffed to hand out boarding passes until almost 2 hours after my redeye pulled in, so I was able to "decompress" nicely at the CO club nearby (before security) while waiting.
One of its strongest features is that you don't need to be ticketed on the club's carrier to gain entry - just show the card.

I've been very happy with it. I fly out of MCI and generally can't use the one Club available (DL) there unless I'm flying DL because of MCI's weird setup. I agree with the earlier poster that it's less useful in airports where you have to pass through another secured area to get to your plane, such as EWR or MCI. Much better in places like ORD and ATL, where your flight and the club are more likely to be in in the same secured area.

They have some weird omissions- last I checked, no Clubs in CVG or CLT. Overall I probably pay more than I would with a single airline club membership because of the guest fees for my husband when we travel together, but to me it's worth it because of the huge variety of clubs we've been able to visit. The ones I can think of include Prague, Zurich, London and Edinburgh; in January we'll use one of the clubs in Athens. No single airline's club would be likely to provide access to all of those places.

I've been happy with it too, with a few exceptions. For some reason the UA RCC in LAX is excluded. But I've used the RCC in a few other cities just fine.

I have been pretty satisfied as well. I am not a member of an airline club and use Priority Pass as needed, most often in the caribbean. My renewal is due and I'm not looking forward to the $99 annual fee, but when I think of waiting in the airports during a long delay I'd pay almost anything to get into a club.

Priority Pass comes with my Amex plat charge card (a feature of European cards, not to be confused with the US product) and actually managed to pay for itself in terms of lounge visits last year. I've found myself with 2-3 hours waiting on standby in AMS a couple of times and it was nice to be able pop into one of the lounges and down a few beers while I waited.
