How do you get from Manchester to Luton?
Flying into MAN on US and then wanting to go out of Luton. Would this be an easy thing to do by train? About how much would it cost? Would a bus be better or cheaper?
I did an internet search and an not sure if the train schedule was actually airport to airport (???) or city to city, but it appears that this can be done in about 3.5 - 4.0 hours. What would be the best way to buy this type of ticket? It appeared that advance purchases are as low as 16 pounds.
Can it be done electronically?
Thanks for the help.

You'll need to go to Liverpool to get the Easyjet flight but this probably strikes the best balance in terms of cost/convenience (train from Manchester to Hunts Cross Station, bus 81a to the airport).

The trains can get crowded though so book your seats in advance:

Unfortunately, LTN is the one London airport you can't fly to from MAN!
The train is a slightly irritating journey, as it means changing in Sheffield and Luton (note, Luton Airport Parkway station is not Luton station - it's also a bus ride away from the terminal). But it's only 3.5 hours, which isn't bad.
The coach - see http://www.gobycoach.com/ takes anything from 5.5 hours upwards. There's a couple of direct services, but mostly you have to change. Long-distance bus travel in the UK is anything but comfortable, but then it is very cheap, and e-tickets are bookable.
If you go for the train, you can usually reserve tickets in advance, and pick them up at (using the credit card you booked them with) from a machine at Manchester Piccadilly. The cheapest fare is an Apex single, where you are committed to a specific set of trains (assuming they connect OK).
Bear in mind that Luton is home of the LCCs. And UK LCCs can be notoriously unsympathetic towards late arrivals, for whatever reason. Luton Airport Parkway station is still a bus journey from the airport, and trains in the UK (and coaches, given the unpredictability of traffic on the Midlands motorways) are not the most reliable beasts.
Your other alternative, of course, is to head directly down to London, and stay there one night before heading back out to the airport on the Thameslink train.

I don't think EZY fly LPL-LTN either - they have bases in both, but don't link them...
In fact, there are no English airports at all served from LTN, it appears. (Unless you count IOM and JER, but that gets all horrendously complex...)

Oops, they no longer do Liverpool to Luton. I'm suprised as this flight (at least in my experience) was always very busy.
