Is this site a scam???

http://consumertravel.org

Seems to good to be true. Any ideas.... THanks

Life here at our Las Vegas office couldn't be busier. In fact,
lately it's been a little TOO busy.

Every month, we feature a special offer available to all our
readers (Insider Travel members get even more of a discount). You
may have noticed that nothing new has come for a while, and this
week we received a few emails from readers asking about the May
mailing - where is it?

Don't worry, you haven't missed anything - we've just been busy and
want to make sure we can properly support our members. But read
below to learn about a very special offer we'll be launching for
three days only beginning on June 6...

***

Calling all Budget Travelers!

Our most popular offer of all time was first introduced a few
months ago, in January 2005. For only $6 per person a night, a few
hundred lucky people were able to stay in great hotels all across
North America like Holiday Inn, Doubletree, Choice Properties, and
their franchises.

The offer was even more of a hit than we planned. Readers from all
over moved quickly to pick up the great deal, and
since the gift certificates we used were fully transferable and
required a minimum purchase of two, many people bought extras so
that their friends and family members could enjoy a super-cheap
getaway.

Others were disappointed, though, because they didn't get their
order in on time and we had to cancel dozens of payments. Because
our special offers are strictly limited in quantity by the hotel
companies, we could only apologize and tell people to wait a few
months for the offer to return.

Good news! After some lengthy negotiation, we're almost ready to
go with a repeat. That's right, we're bringing back the $6
Hotel Room deal next month. In fact, we expect it to be ready in
one week from today, or June 6 to be precise.

This very special promotion will be limited to a few hundred
customers and will last for three days only. (At least we hope it
will last for three whole days. The last time, we ran out of
gift certificates on the second day due to the high demand.) Watch
your email Inbox in about a week's time to
make sure you won't lose out on this great opportunity.

In other news this month:

*We've added an all-new Airline Consolidator & Courier Firm
Directory to the members section of our site. This comprehensive
guide makes it easy to find airline consolidators around the world
that specialize in a specific region or type of travel. If you're
a member of Insider Travel, you can access the directory at no
charge at our member site.

*We continue to improve the Insider Travel guide with much more
content, and we're also creating a special PDF version of the
guide. This allows for greater readability of the guide, no matter
what kind of computer you use. Expect that project to be finished
in about two weeks' time.

*Finally, Insider Travel continues to grow! More than 50,000
people now receive our informative reports and special offers via
email each month, and we welcome more readers every day. Many of
our readers go on to a lifetime membership with Insider Travel,
which allows them instant access to an abundance of discount travel
information as well as two incredible travel bonuses that would
normally cost hundreds of dollars.

If you haven't signed up for full membership yet, you can do that
today and also receive a special bonus valid for all new members
joining from this newsletter. Click the link below and sign up
quickly before the bonus runs out:

I'd like to say thank you, Bill M, for your continued support.
Our goal is to continually improve the service we offer to you and
all our readers. There will never be a charge for these mailings and
you can unsubscribe at any time.

Look for our email on June 6 that gives details about the
upcoming $6 a night Hotel Stay special offer. Until then, have a
great week and remember to spend some time planning your next
vacation.

Keep traveling well,

Chris Robinson

As this is not purely about mileage, I'm moving to TravelBuzz.

I can't speak about this one in particular, but in general when people sign up for traevel porgrams with a front-end costs and vague promises of discount travel, they never find anything attractive. Either the low airfare is bundled with exorbiutant hotel rates, or vice versa. This one also says up front that the deals they've offered are extremely limited. I can picture the answer on every one being, "sorry, too many people responded before you did".

From all appearances they are selling only "information," and it's the same information you can get for free here on Flyertalk.
