Partner in an information design consultancy. I help companies with everything from marketing message clarity to retail kiosk usability. My travel patterns are dictated by our business patterns... I will go for months just working around home, then have a sudden surge of road work.

Student. Worked in a local OR for a few years until I for all intents and purposes was replaced by cheap labor a couple months ago, so now I only work when people hurt themselves late at night and no one else wants to go in.
I travel because I get bored easily. BNA gets boring.

Government communications manager. Unfortunately, the rare chance to travel in my small state means "exciting" destinations such as Cumberland and Ocean City

College professor. Gives me time to travel, which I love, and since I'm pretty low-maintenance otherwise enough money as well.
Plus a consulting practice with high-tech vendors' analyst relations programs that occasionally takes me to good places. Traveled more for business when that was full-time.
And occasional projects on behalf of the FT grammar/spelling police, but I can do that from anywhere.
