The Two Security Questions

I've been flying WN weekly for 8 months now...not checking bags. It struck me that they have not asked me the two securuty questions they always used to..."Did you pack your own bags?, and Have the bags been under your control since you packed them?"

Do they not ask these anymore? Or do they only ask if you are checking bags?

Personally, I'd rather answer the questions than take off my shoes and shuffle through the metal detector like a criminal, but that's a subject for another day....

I haven't been asked those questions for quite some time. I think they realize that if you're a terrorist, you might also be a liar, so you might not answer truthfully.
If only TSA would realize that if you're a terrorist, you might buy a round trip ticket to avoid SSSS!

Agree with that one...

The funniest story I've heard is my wife's grandfather Emory...he is mid-90s, 100 lbs soaking wet, and too frail to handle the 10-hour car trip from LBB to HOU, so he flies. As a single male traveler, with no baggage, paying at the gate for a one-way ticket, he gets the full monty....

Not that I'd EVER ridicule ANYTHING my government does...but...does anyone think there will ever be another successful hijacking? Seems like every month you read about some drunk yokel who got a beat-down by his fellow passengers...read about one last month where a rugby team duct-taped a drunken bully, who later died of heart failure.

You'd think that on any flight, there would be a couple of people who would lead the charge, and maybe a half dozen "fence sitters" who would follow when they saw someone else making a move.

Not trying to tempt the Fates, just wondering...

The rule that required them to ask the questions has gone away.
