one way from NRT to Shanghai
I need to find the cheapest ticket available on a one way ticket from NRT to
Shanghai. Anyone knows any discount travel agencies in China where I can buy the ticket from?
I wouldn't think any agency in Japan will be cheaper?
I have seen a fare of $454US on China Eastern published on the travel websites.

I don't think you can easily buy one way tickets ex-NRT in China. I am getting Tokyo consolidator prices on the order of Y44,800 for May (after Golden week) through mid-June for a round trip NRT-Shanghai, this is on the dialy Northwest nonstop (Y5,000 more for each flight on a Sunday). Probably, unfortunately, one way isn't much cheaper than the round trip, but this round trip fare is actually a little bit lower than $454.

Is this some kind of emergency or are you planning to fly US - > NRT -> SHA -> US?
Truth is, if you haven't gotten the NRT tix yet, you can usually buy tix to SHA on NW, ANA, UA, or JAL, all stopping in NRT, for probably less than US -> NRT and NRT -> SHA.
just a thought.

Nope, it seems that SFO->NRT->SFO plus the consolidator ticket NRT->PVG->NRT is running cheaper than the ticket to PVG with a stopover in NRT since the first can be booked in S, while the lowest fare allowing the stopover seems to be H. There is also an extra $100 charge for the stopover, at least on UA.
At least that's the case for my next trip, which is planned for end May/early June (i.e., the expensive season). Might not be applicable for April, I haven't checked.

Well, my two friends are flying from Spain to BKK and returning from PVG back to Spain. They are also flying one way BKK-NRT and after a few days will be flying one way BKK-PVG. That's why the need for the one way tickets, because of the open jaw return on KLM/Air France.
$426 on NWA? I did not see that fare for April 25th on the internet.
The fare I listed was on China Eastern.

Sorry, I just noticed that fare has to be bought 35 days in advance, so you've missed the window. It was from Hit Travel in Japan, and there are other fares available but not as cheap (and yes, the next lowest fare is on China Eastern). Here's the link, sorry you're too late to buy the lower fare:

second to that, i woud advise you to redeem an intra-asia award ticket from 20k miles and try to use the return within one year.
third, if you do end up dropping 450, i suggest you buy up to c. c is nothing special on that route in any carrier, but the price difference should be minimal
