Question Tumi locations in the US

Not quite sure where this goes in...

Was in London yesterday and saw some nice Tumi stuff although with a trip to the US next week it seems daft to buy when I could get it for $ price rather than Ł.

Had a look on the Tumi website and their worldwide store locator only seems to cover countries outside the US

Better still, if anyone knows locations of Tumi stockists in Richmond,VA or Annapolis,MD then that'd be most welcome. Can probably also pull off a stop in DC if need be....

obscure2k, afraid that store locator doesn't have US stores in it (as mentioned in OP)

It looks like Tumi offers customized pages based on the IP... When I clicked the above link I got the US store locator...

Anyhoo, I saved the page and put it on my server:

Enjoy

I know for sure San Francisco off Union Square & South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA. You'll often get better deals on Tumi at department stores - out here, Macy's often has very good sales. And you get 15% off that day just for opening an account...

Actually Tumi stores themselves should also have good deals (most of them are just rebranded Kaehler travelworks stores), also as fbgdavisdson is a UK citizen a store card discount isn't much use as he won't be able to get a card...

FWIW, even the Tumi website isn't operated by Tumi, it is an ebags operation...

Your in luck the Annapolis Mall has a store called the Leather S hop next to Nordstroms. They sell Tumi and Travelpro as well as Hartman. I bought a travelpro from the owner a couple of weeks ago. It is a great place. Good prices for me on the travelpro.

Not sure if you are looking for outlets or not, just remember if you do buy something at a factory outlet, unless it's full price you won't get any warantee on it.

Here's a listing of stores with Tumi near where you will be (doesn't really matter who you visit, Tumi is hardly ever on sale anyplace other then the outlets)

Not true - I've bought it on sale at Macy's & then gotten further discounts that they were offering for Christmas shopping.

Nothing in Richmond is a 3 minute walk away...

I always wondered why people would want Tumi luggage, perhaps you could explain (I'm serious here.) Luggage theft and pilferage is a major problem for travellers. If I'm a thief or pilferer, isn't it likely that I will choose the luggage with the expensive Tumi label rather than some anonymous brand? Doesn't the Tumi label broadcast "this is expensive luggage, with expensive goods inside?" Aren't you better off buying durable luggage that doesn't invite theft?

I don't think that it broadcasts it has expensive goods in side. I really don't see all that much chance somebody can steal it either, I don't remember the last time I got to the luggage belt after my bags did.

When I see a tumi bag I think either somebody got a really nice gift, or they have enough sense to get a bag that will last them a very long time and not have to keep replacing it every tro or three years trying to save money.

I gave my girlfriend, wife now a tumi soft leather briefcase 14 years ago when she started a new job. The bag is still perfectly useable, and while it looks like it's been used, it still looks great. Aren't many other bags out there you can say that about.

In the outlets, there are some incredible buys.
