LAX to Anaheim
What is the best driving route for this Thursday around 12:30pm heading to Disneyland? I have no idea which interstates are under construction and thus should be avoided. Thanks!

Take Sepulveda or Aviation Blvd. south to the 105 freeway East.
Follow the 105 for about 15 miles to the 605 South.
Take the 605 South for about 2 miles to the 91 East.
Follow the 91 East for about 7 miles to the 5 South.
Take the 5 South for about 6 miles to Harbor Blvd.
Turn left at the end of the exit ramp onto Harbor Blvd. South.
Disneyland will be on your right, about one mile.
This route is the most direct and avoids the 405 freeway, which can get nasty around Carson (between LAX and Long Beach) any time of the day.
If you have Internet access before you leave, you might want to check sigalert.com for local traffic conditions, and in the car listen to XM channel 222 (if you have satellite radio) or if not, 980 AM on the 1's will give traffic info.

If there are at least two of you in the car you can use the carpool lanes almost all the way (105, 91 and 5).
You need to exit the carpool lane on 105 before you get to 605, but stay in the 91 carpool lane since this has its own exit to the 5 South carpool lane (not clearly signed but it is there).

I like wahooflyer's route; it seems direct enough and you should not have to worry about too much traffic. I would mention that there is a specific Disneyland exit off Interstate 5, it's DISNEYLAND DRIVE. The exit ramp pretty much feeds you into the parking for Disneyland. There is even an exit ramp off of the carpool lanes of the 5.

Don't be like me. Heading back from Anaheim to LAX last October, we ended up in Pomona. Makes me wonder how people like FlyinHawaiian can find their way around after living on a small island for so long.

I agree with Wahooflyer.... I was just out there at the Anaheim Convention Center all last week. Am not that familiar with the area, but was able to easily navigate my way around... even when I asked the car rental agent to give me a Intermediate (since I was alone) and he ended up giving me a Chevy Trailblazer (which can't happen when you want the extra room). I didn't run into any construction. It was a little slow going back on Friday due to the rain and wet roads. Have fun!!!
