Fare basis / class code

Does anyone know of any online booking websites which give the fare bases / class code (eg Y, W, B etc) before purchasing tickets?

I stumbled across one a few months ago but stupidly I've lost the URL. Expedia and Travelocity will not give the codes - even in you phone them!

I'm a Star Alliance silver member and use Lufthansa more often than not.

Hi sc_uk,

On expedia.co.uk I have found that as long as you do not book an expedia special fare, the fare codes comes up if you click on "rules and restrictions)after you have selected your flights.

I know united.com rarely gets recommended for anything, but it does give you the fare basis code before purchase, and they do Lufthansa.

Travelocity gives you the booking code and fare basis code. From their flexible dates search page, you can click on "Rules" to the right on the list of fares. For specific dates once you've selected your specific flights, and told them you don't want a hotel, the "Review the price and restrictions for your trip" screen comes up, and there's a link to "Adult Fare Rules" on the right. The rules popup has the fare basis and booking code.

Interesting caveat with Travelocity "dates flexible" search: Since they "upgraded" the software engine for the fixed-dates search, the flexible dates option doesn't work from the main www.travelocity.com page. To get flexible search to work, mouseover the blue "Flights" dropdown at the top of the screen and choose "search flights". The screen it takes you to looks almost identical to the main homepage, but the flexible dates/fare listing works then. ^

As this thread is not about "mileage" and "points" I am moving it out of MilesBuzz and into TravelBuzz. Discussions of booking engines seem to end up mostly on that board.
