Cheap fare to the philippenes.

If there is anyone who travels to the Philippenes or has done so, what would be the most cost effiecient way to go. Someone mentioned to try a Brazillian airline out of california but I couldn't book with them to go to Manilla where I want to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

many TAs offer bulk fares to the phils. if you're not at a gateway city (lax, sfo, las, etc), you'll probably do best on nw. otherwise, pr, ci, br, jl, and one or both of the korean airlines enter the equation. pr is the most convenient option imo, but jl is my first pick. fares usually come in between $600 and $750 or $800+ for br evergreen deluxe. gatewaylax is a good place to inquire about fares; don't bother with their online booking engine (not very helpful); just call. be advised that there is a surcharge for weekend departures on most carriers.

It would help if you told us what city you are flying from and the approximate dates of travel.

You'd probably have to switch airlines once or twice in skyteam or oneworld for a nice connection. as for cheap, I suggest going for Delta/Korean
