I'd prefer not to rehash a topic that's been discussed ad nausem, but I guarantee that if you check the USAirways forum or perform a search on "USAirways' bankruptcy", you'll get ALL of the information you could ever want.
Good luck!

Have done suggested searches and I'm not ending up with any info. I'm looking for a "US Air" forum, can't find one. The search for "US Air bankruptcy" takes me to stuff about American Airlines. and freuqnet flyer miles Any help would be appreciated.

The US Airways forum will have much more information on the stability of the airline.
However, from my simple understanding of things, US Airways prospects are looking brighter than they have done for a couple of years.

Welcome to FT! It's perfectly fine to fly US Air just as any other airline. US is in Star Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world, so you get all the Frequent flier benefits with any other Star Alliance airline, such as United.
People have been speculating about US Air (and United/Delta/American/Continental/Fill-in-your-choice-of-major-air carrier here) failing ever since Sept 11 2001. And all of the above are still around. US has the cash flow to get through summer 2005 perfectly fine. Plus today is the start of more new flights and a new "low-cost" route schedule, with emphasis on DCA, PHL, FLL, and even PIT.

On the bar on the top of this screen where it says "Jump to Forums," click on "Miles & Points." In the Airlines section, scroll down to near the bottom of the list where you should find the US Airways.
