Whether the early days of jet flying were ever exactly like this is unlikely, but it is still fun to see what was foreseen back then, when PanAm promised travelers the 707 jet clipper would "take the travail out of travel."

It was as glamorous as that, I can assure you.
Pam Am used to have a flight that went just around the world with a 707. Stopovers were places like Rome Athens, Teheran, Bombay etc. The food was great, there was a little lounge at the front, the seats were wider, soft, there were little cushions for your feet (foot resters?). Of course, no DVD's, films, etc. but people used to talk to each other, flying was just something special.
Those were the days...
