Question LAX connection - Term 6 to Term 2

I've been through LAX many times, but only on NW so never had to change terminals. I'm looking at an itin that would allow 40 minutes to get from term 6 (CO) to term 2 (NW). Is this enough? Thanks.

uhh... Terminal 6 and 2 are on oposite sides of the horseshoe. I think that is gonna be pretty tight.

I recently did a mileage run CO LAX to MCI. I live in PHX and flew Southewest PHX to LAX. Southwest is in Terminal 1, CO is Terminal 6. From curb to curb it was a 3-4 minute walk. I do walk quickly but you could do it in less than 10 minutes. I would not fool around with the shuttle bus.

If you're able to handle the walk with your carryons, and you have a boarding pass for the NW flight, you should be ok. You go out of CO at T6, cross all the roads, etc., and you're right at T2. The question will be what happens if you're late into T6.

If you're on a premium ticket, maybe they can arrange to drive you around so you don't have to re-clear security?

Here is a nice map of LAX, you can see the walkway.

The only thing I can add is that if you do the walk at the ground (arrivals) level, you can walk the straight line between the terminals. If you try to do it at the Departure levels, I think you're going to need to walk the long way around (past Tom Bradley.

FYI, there is a dedicated forum for SoCal airport topics...

You can do it, but it will be tight. Hopefully you don't have checked luggage. I've run from T1 to T4 - about the same distance to make a flight leaving 30 minutes later and made it with carryons only. Go across the ground (arrivals) level, not the departure level.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks to everyone that replied, the time/distance information is helpful!

It sounds like we should be able to make the walk without a problem (given the arrivals tip). Boarding passes will be in hand and we're both elite so should be able to clear security relatively quickly in T2. Also, carryon only, since it's an LAX-MCI MR.

Sorry about missing the SoCal Airport forum, I searched for LAX topics and it seemed like this was this place to post. I stand corrected.
