Just found this airline while wandering around the web looking for fares from VCE to NAP next month after the Venice Meet. There was an interesting disparity in fares:
Alitalia E205 Inclusive of Taxes, Fees, etc.
Volare E100 Also Incusive
alpieagles E19 Exclusive of all extras which, when
added in, brought it up to E62
There is however a kicker. On the page where you have the final look before buying, it is clearly stated that each passenger is allowed to check a maximum of two bags with a total weight of 15 kilos. Each kilo over will cost E6. I figured that each of us will go over maybe 10 kilos max, and the extra charge will bring the total up to maybe E125 each.
This still beats the poop out of Alitalia and since Volare is also charging for luggage (I guess this was started by Ryanair), alpieagles will still be cheaper.
Since there has not been anything posted about alpieagles here on FT, I am guessing that we might be the first.
Results and info to follow about the first of December.
Note: The site that I used is in Italian. There is a site in English, but I could not get it to work with either IE, Mozilla, or Firefox (with all addon popup blockers disabled).
