Oftentimes, Airshow is better than the movies that are shown.

Window Seat: Reading the Landscape from the Air
Is the name of the book about what is visible from 35K or higher.

Also there are two maps called "Airline Passenger Flight Maps" that show the cities and major geographic features. One Series is all of the US. the other portrays specific Flight Routings. (i.e. Denver to Phoenix)

Either the book or the maps should be available from your local map store.

Most US airlines that don't have in-seat TV's lack airshow programming on domestic flights...as for GPS use, I know Southwest's inflight magazine mentions it by name and it says that it is permissible to use in cruise, I think AirTran's has something similar?

Has anyone else picked up a copy of "America From the Air"? I've loved this book since receiving it as a Christmas present. It's got frequent route maps, descriptions of geography, aerial photos, etc... Also includes a PDF copy on CD-ROM which I loaded on my laptop so I don't have to haul along the (big) book anymore.

Check it out if you're a "view from the sky" nut like me!
