HPN hotel
I have a 7:24 AM flight out of HPN on a Saturday. The first Metro-North train would get me to the White Plains station just before 6:30 AM. This is cutting it close, and I would prefer to stay at a hotel near the airport.
The problem is, it doesn't seem that any exist! Using Expedia.com, which is usually very good at finding hotels near a location, the only hotels I could find are around 10 miles away, and they're horribly expensive (like resort hotels in the middle of nowhere).
Any suggestions? Thanks.

There isn't a hotel at the HPN airport. Your best bet would be the hotel in Armonk, NY, where the crews stay. Unfortunately it changed ownership recently and I can't remember what property it now is. .... wait, just did a search, it is now a Wellesley Inn. (It was a Remada. And it was a bit of a dive - but the new owner may have improved it. You can walk into Armonk which has a number of decent restaurants/food choices.)

I suggest you stay downtown White Plains and cab it to HPN.

Location: Formerly HPN, but then DCA and IAD for a while, and now back to HPN!
Programs: Honestly, I've been out of the travel game so long that I'm not even sure. Maybe Marriott Gold?

Avoid the Wellsley
Here's another vote to stay in downtown White Plains. The Residence Inn or the Courtyard (over in Rye) are apt to have decent weekend rates for a Friday night, and both are a 15 minute (at most) cab ride from HPN. The Wellsley's terrible, and though it's in Armonk and closer to HPN, it's a dump. You can also check the Renaissance or the Crowne Plaza in White Plains. Or you can call me and I can rent you a room in my White Plains house very cheaply! Just kidding.

As I mentioned, the Armonk hotel was, and i guess still is, a dump, but if $ is a concern you avoid the cab fee to the airport, and the rates are cheap. We stayed there while doing some work on our house. Low expectations and you'll be fine.
If you chose to stay elsewhere, use priceline. And check out biddingfortravel and betterbidding first.

Thanks for the replies! The Crowne Plaza is sold out that night, and Priceline is not necessary as this is a business trip. I booked a room at the Summerfield Suites (by Wyndham) at 101 Corporate Park Dr.
