Question Experience with baggage shipping??
I am seriously considering having our bags shipped ahead for a trip we have in December. Does anyone have any experience with these companies and can give advice or recommendations?

I frequently ship stuff home by U.S. Postal Service. They take luggage as is, no need for a box. You can lock your bag. Just tape or sticky-back a label onto the bag. Put an extra label in a side pocket in case that tag gets lost.
If you can ship by slow boat, then it's not too expensive. Maybe 20-40$ per bag. You can also insure and track your bag, for small extra cost.

It will save you a lot of hassles at a nominal cost. If your sched allows this, it is well worth doing.
