Question Cemetary @ O'hare

I noticed while landing on 9R (might have been 9L) at ORD there is a cemetary on airport grounds. Can anyone provide any info about this?

THX

There's actually a couple of cemeteries at O'Hare.

Anyone know of other airports with cemeteries on the grounds?

Does it surprise anybody that they didn't "relocate" cemetary...I'm not going to be buried, but I would think that being buried on airport grounds wouldn't be that peaceful...it sure wouldn't be a great place for people to visit!

I can't list them all, but I've flown into many small airports with graveyards off the end of the runway. The great advantage is that they don't complain about the noise...

Its a good way to start a conversation with fellow pax who are afraid of flying: "See that cemetary there? When flight XXX in 1982 crashed on takeoff, they couldn't find very much left, so everything was plowed over..."

Well, what would be a better place to R.I.P. for the frequent flyer, if not airport ?
