Bali visas

This was discussed some time ago and having recently returned from Bali, I thought I would mention our experience. The immigration area was packed and even the line for people who already had visas was quite long (but moving at least). We had arranged with the hotel ahead of time to have a visa service ($25 pp for visas) who met us at the aircraft, took us to immigration where we sat down while she arranged for our visa. She returned with visas in our passports after about ten minutes, and after that we went through a special line to get through immigration. She had someone help with luggage and all in all, it was worth any price - ours was charged to our hotel and turned out to be about $30 pp. so around $55 pp total for visa and service.

IMHO, if you have an Indonesian Consulate nearby you are far better served getting it done in advance there. The cost is only $30 and it saves you the hassle of having to wait at the airport.

Bruiser....

I am going to Bali in less than 2 weeks and would be very interested in hearing how you arranged that visa thing with the hotel. We are staying at the Ritz Carlton Bali. Do you think they offer this service?? I have had a really hard time contacting them for anything, any time I try, I magically end up with the central US Switchboard.

Any thoughts.

Unfortunately I don't have any more information other than our billing statement that said "escort airport greeting". I think some time ago this was discussed and I seem to remember someone saying the RC had a service called JAS so you might try them again and mention this. The one they talked about was only $15 + visa cost while ours was more but included luggage service. Good luck, as it really does help!

You may be right but on the day we arrived the lines for immigration with visas were very long. We didn't have any wait as the special line we went through was for this special service and had on one in it.
