Swapping Seats - Coach to First Class Question

My brother and I have been planning on taking a trip to Paris this summer using BA miles for our respective family members. In all, there will be 4 adults and 1 child. While I have been to Paris a dozen times over the past 3 years, neither my mom, who will be joining us nor my brother or his wife and child have been. In addition, none of them has ever been on such a long flight from the West Coast. I have enough miles BA for three First Class tickets, which I have flown in in the past a few times and would love to treat my family to. The problem, as you can see is that there are 5 of us but only 3 First Class tickets, so, my question is, if 2 ppl flew in coach, say my sister-in-law and my nephew and she traded off with my brother every 5 hours or so, do you think it would be frown upon? Only one person would ever occupy the seat, but I would like them to both enjoy the treat of BA First. Of course, I would be willing to do the same, but are there any opinions or comments from others who have done this or have tried to do this?

Thanks!

3 in F and 2 in Y? How about all of you in business class?

3 in first on the way there
2 in ecconomy in the way there

then keep your mum in first and then the other 2 can swap

so you have yoru mum and the 2 ecconomies fly first back

and then the 2 people that flew first on teh way there fly in ecconomy

problem solved, this way they get to experience the whole flight and meals

If you repost this on the BA forum you may get some replies from those in the know, like Pucci who is a BA CSD (Purser).

I would be surprised if those with Y tickets were permitted in.

Can't speak for BA, but usually if you talk to a UA FA, they'll let you do the swap - but only once, not multiple times or multiple people. Good luck.

I looked into that, however, Business Class is sold out on award tickets. Thanks for the recommendation though.

only one swap, but iffy

There is a huge risk on BA that the answer once airbourne will be a big 'no'. If you are able to negotiate for it, the answer will be one time and for a limited amount of time. No swapping for meals. I guess what I am trying to say is 'don't count on it'. Most especially if there is a fancy VIP in First. Then the answer will be 'no'.

I've watched a lot of people try. On one flight with a royal princess in First we weren't even allowed to leave the cabin for a walk! It was stay here and stay put!
