Igougo
I haven't seen any recent threads about igougo, but old ones I found were under SPAM, so I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I've found the journals that are most helpful and interesting to me are ones written by people I think I have something in common with. If nothing else, if you're reading this, at least we have FT in common! Please post if you write journals for igougo and your handle over there if it's different from here. I just started and have written 2 journals under CheapSk8--please check them out.
I know pgary has posted journals there, too. Others?

My name on there is baseballbrat. I'll read yours, and you can read mine. We can help each other out.
As far as the IGUGO belonging on S.P.A.M., I think it does since you can earn AA miles for doing it. It's really no different than e-rewards or my points. You do something to earn points and cash them in for air miles.

I write there as 'samepenny'
send me a note via the IGOUGO internal message center and I'll be thrilled to read your journals. I appreciate any reads also. I've gotten a lot of AA miles and other nice prizes from IGOUGO. Also, If you go to that site you can see my infamous photo.

Couple questions/comments:
1. What the F is with the editor's picks??!!??!!, they usually suck in terms of information, they are only good posts (IMO) due to the writing ability of the poster (over the top descriptions).
2. How does one earn AA miles?, I missed this one.

I use Igougo to research trips, as well. A couple of years ago there was a long thread on this so we could all read each others' journals. I believe now Igougo changed it and journals over a certain age...180 days?? (not sure) don't earn points for people reading them anymore. You just earn in the first 180 days, or whatever the actual time length is.
I believe 25,000 points will get you 25,000 AA miles, but it takes a lot to get there, including posting many, many journals with multiple chapters and best of all, photos.
I haven't posted in a while, but you can find me under guide name: Boomsie. I'll log on and read journals of names posted above. Every little bit helps.

Actually, 25,000 points will get you 5,000 AA miles. You get some bonus points just for joining (1,000) and you get points for writing journals -- 50 to 350 points depending on your journals' "rating". Also, everytime a registered user reads your journals (10 points), upload a picture (10 to 25 points), etc.
It's not a lot, and it takes some work -- but if you keep a journal of your travels and take a lot of pictures anyway, these points are a bonus.
BTW, I'm a new journal writer going as HawaiianFlyer -- I'll check out as many of your journals as possible.....would appreciate the same.

Dear HF
I'll look you up over on IGOUGO. Don't hesitate to let me know when you have a new journal posted. Those points do add up! Thanks for reading mine!

IgoUgo
I am on IgoUgo as TrulyMalin but sadly all my journals are expired at the moment. I'll post here if I write anything new - and feel free to add me to your Friends list so I can be notified of any new journals.
Journals expire after 6 months and no longer earn points. 25,000 GO points = 5,000 AA miles. You're better off using the points for gift cards - the prizes are really not bad!
Also use IGO VERY often to research destinations and find it extremely helpful.

I can say the same about your wonderful journals - and your travels take you much further afield than mine. I'm always jealous of your trips.

Yes, Truly is it your same old penny!
My trips, however, are mainly related to work. I get in some sightseeing and other pleasures where I can. At the least I get a nice hotel and a good per dium for meals. Some how most conference facilities look alike. Thanks for your kind words.

found what I was looking for...
I've signed myself up, same username as here.
So how do you get registered for the gift cards?
Ah, I found it... I had to look for more then ten seconds.
