Direct Flights website
Is there a website that tells you who flies directly between to ports, e.g Cairo-Milan. Several airlines offer that service but BA for example fly via LHR and take 13 hours for a 3.5 hour trip. Any advice gratefully received.

Well, you could try
http://world.altavista.com/
It will even translate web pages for you. Don't know how good it is, but it might do a good enough job for you to get by.

For the route you mentioned (Cairo-Milan) Alitalia does offer direct flights (which you can book via Expedia, saving yourself the Italian lessons!)

EDIT: Clarified Expedia's interface (select shortest flights after you search the route) and corrected my speeling errores

I lurk, therefore,

The MilesBuzz! forum is for posting of information related to the latest frequent flyer program buzz.
This doesn't appear to have anything to do with miles or points, so I'm moving over to TravelBuzz!.

Well if you don't speek Italian yu could always try http://www.alitaliausa.com
Just go to alitalia and select your country.
As for the BA thing just look at a map of Europe and use as a general rule airlines only have rights to fly to and from their home countires (some exceptions do happen. This was you can see which countries airlines are going to take a lot longer
Also on expedia, travelocity you can check the direct flight only box.

Thanks flipside, I did not realise how prolific Travel Buzz was. Once again FT proves an amazing resource. I now know how to translate a website from virtually any language to another, that Expedia and Travelocity have a shortest route/direct option and Alitalia have an English website, all in a few hours.
I lurk far to much here (burnt in a flame over a year ago) and I resolve to give more than I get in future.
Thank you everyone for your excellent advice.
