I don't know how far down you want to go, but maybe this link to 317 countries will help:

http://www.travelerscenturyclub.org/countries.html

<<Edited to add: Oops. Not all of these are recognized by the UN. Maybe it's a start, though>>

Last I remember is that there are just over 200 recognized countries, including the Palestinian Authority. The UN has 195 or so members, with 10 non-members and observing states (Palestinians, etc)

Only "country" not recognized by the UN is Taiwan.

The UN doesn't "recognize" countries, it just happens to have most all countries as members. The official list of UN members, containing 191 countries, is here:

http://www.un.org/members/

Note that some countries voluntarily choose to stay out (the biggie for a long time being Switzerland, but they'd finally joined so the sole holdout seems to be the Vatican now), and others are just "entities who have received a standing invitation to observe" (!), including Palestine and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (whose territory consists of an office in Rome).

clacko, from the World Bank web site:

The organizations that make up the World Bank Group are owned by the governments of member nations, which have the ultimate decision-making power within the organizations on all matters, be they policy, financial, or membership issues.

In the case the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), there are 184 member countries, nearly all the countries of the world. The International Development Association (IDA) has 164 members, the International Finance Corporation has 176 members, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency has 164 members, and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes has 140 members.
Link to the IBRD membership list here. I hope this points you in the right direction.
