Is this The Feeling?
April in Paris,
Chestnuts in blossom,
Holiday tables under the trees,
April in Paris,This is a feeling
No one can ever repeat.
I never knew the charm of Spring,
never met it face to face
I never knew my heart could sing, never missed a warm embrace till April in Paris
---
I've been to Paris in every other month of the year except April and May, is it really different in April? Was Paris ever like the lyrics above?

I read an anecdote in Reader's Digest, possibly urban-legendish, about this. Some notable person (listed by name in the anecdote) went to Paris in April because of this song. Later on he met the author of the song and told him that he had gone to Paris in April and had a miserable time due to rain and cold. The author said something like - Oh, I know that. I much prefer to go in May. But I had to put April in the song to make it scan.

9 times out of ten, April in Paris sucks! Every time I've been there in early April it's COLD, grey, and everyone still has that "it's too cold, midwinter glaze" in their eyes. I'd rather go in May, too.
