Santago Layover

I will have a 7 hour layover in Santiago on Sunday. Does anyone know of any good 4-5 hour tours (Andes/Santiago) that will pick us up and return us to the airport?

You might want to contact Transvip www.transvip.cl - you can arrange for a four hour city tour for CL$30.000 (US$50) or something more substantial.

I'm on my way there tomorrow

Thanks Eastbay. I have enquired about the possibility of a tour with them. It looks like the weather over there is going to be beautiful. Rain has diminished, and temperatures are predicted to be mild. I can't wait. Have a great trip.

Ah. I'll just miss you, I'm going to be in Santiago on Saturday.. for 7 hours. It's a great city, easy to get around via the subway or taxi.

...per person, in currency, no excessively dirty bills.

If you don't have it, they'll escort you to an ATM to get it.

The good news, if return visits are a possibility, is that the entry permit is good for as long as the passport it's in, and the fee (which matches what the US charges Chileans for visas, though it involves far less hassle) will probably go up during that time.
