Promotionl Code For Restaurant.com??
I was thinking of purchasing some restaurant gift certificates to give as gifts for the holidays (for those who are not familar, they sell $25 GC for $10). On their order page there is a space for promotional code. Does anyone know of a code to use for even more savings? Thanks in advance for any codes or savings suggestions with this site, as I m a first time user.

Actually, try E-Bay. I just put in the name of the city I wanted & used the "Everything Else" catagory & it came up with a bunch of Restaurant.com auctions. I bought 3 for an average of $5 each. You have to print out the coupon after you buy the certificate.
Good Luck!

Thank you everyone for the great suggestions!
I am going to take your advice and try e-bay. This will be a first for me as well.
It seems unbelievable that you can purchase a $25 GC for $5. This semms almost too good to be true, has anyone ever had a problem using one of these certificates?
Thanks again.

Yes, it's a great deal, but READ THE FINE PRINT. For instance, I bought one that I didn't notice till I got it that you have to have FOUR in your party to use the coupon. Otherwise, it's great.
Also, I bought one for S.F. and didn't use it on my trip. I read in their notes that there are 'no refunds after 90 days'. I was on day about 88 and emailed that I hadn't been able to use my GC. I was very surprised a week later to get an email that my $ was being refunded

I buy them all the time on Ebay for $1-2 for $25 Certificate and $1 handling fee. It has been great for gifts! All of mine have been for parties of 2, 1 per meal even with couples dining together. I imagine the party of 4 restriction is on the $50 ones?
I just wish there were more restaurants in my town!

I just bought two for $2 and $4 in SFO. Looking forward to trying these out. Thanks for the tips.
Many of the SF restaurants have "4 diner" restrictions. Very few restaurants in Marin or East Bay.
Has anyone tried using ordering 2 entrees for 1 person?
P.S. One popular steak place in NYC is selling for $15-27 on eBay for a $50 GC. Not all of them are going super-cheap.

Thanks moderator for moving this -- I never visit the Coupon Connection but I DEFINITELY am interested in these EBay auctions!!!
Does anyone know if there are any blackout dates for these gift certificates other than the time of day or number of diner restrictions that are disclosed in advance? In other words, if a restaurant was going to refuse to accept a certificate on Friday or Saturday or holidays, would that fact be disclosed in advance on the auction website?
