Hotel Occupancy Rates

How can I tell what the occupancy rate is on certain dates at a particular hotel without calling the hotel and asking?

Also, how can I tell what passenger loads on certain flights are?

The hotel part of your question doesn't have an answer, there is no such thing. Hotels aren't that advanced that they report out same day or future occupancy. (This is a challenge for those of us who work there...)

After the fact is a different story, the STAR report (a subscription service) reports on hotels within a subset that compares market share, rate, occupancy, etc., for the analysis of the hotels in question.
