Quiz - for prizes
go to http://www.travel.com.au/trivia...
First 4 categories are pretty easy. Last one is a little harder - I am still trying to figure out the Tube Station. Also I believe one of their other questions does not offer the correct answer as an option.

I think you have to be an AU resident to qualify for the prizes, but the trivia questions are fun to check out. I wish they would tell me the right answers though!

The Trans-Siberian Railway, one of the world's finest train journeys, crosses how many time zones?
http://www.sandia.gov/ASCI/russia/Im..._timezones.gif
The options given are 3,5,7, and 9. I think the correct answer is actually 8. What should I do??
My very knowldgeable friend, Mr Google, had absolutely no problems with this quiz

The answer I had issue with was the current Chinese year - the correct answer was not even an option.

The questions is - Which one London Underground station does not contain any of the letters from the word "mackerel"? For the life of me after having gone through the station list twice I cannot find any station which fits this.

That's a good question. Have a look on the Jubilee Line.
Whilst you're looking for that, also try and find the two stations on the network that contain all the vowels in their names. One's in the centre and one's on the outskirts.

Googling for 'world's oldest rainforest' comes up with a number of places claiming the title.
Edited to add:
What great fun the quiz is, I wasted a good hour late yesterday arvo completing it.

For tube station, try "St John's Wood".
Agree the Rainforst question is misleading. Seems that most experts agree it is in Borneo, which is not given as an answer.
Also confusing could be the question about the world's longest river. There has been some confusion about where the Amazon actually starts (a new source was located only recenty) and finishes.
Anyway, all 50 questions now answered for me and Mrs NM. Thanks for the link.
