Oh yeah, the movie shown on AF 1 to Baghdad was:

Terminator 3:The rise of the machines

how lovely, good for cowboys.

I do watch action thrillers as well, but that is...

I was amused by that, too. I wonder if they've ever shown Air Force One on board Air Force One...

eight minutes out, they made them shut off their laptops.

Bet nobody was arguing about it on that trip.

They're even got the menu!

The trays had liners that said, "Welcome Aboard Air Force One." The tray contained a little glass pepper shaker and matching salt shaker; a crimson cloth napkin with a paper napkin ring with the Presidential seal in gold; a butter pat in a Land O Lakes wrapper; a china plate with two pieces of fried chicken, a scoop of potato salad, a small corn cob; a roll; a china plate with apple pie; and a glass, embossed with the Presidential seal, of lemonade. It is often noted that Air Force One is one of the few planes where you get a real knife. The beverage napkins are white with a light-blue Presidential seal and the words, with quotes around them on the napkin, "Aboard the Presidential Aircraft."

Not quite First Class fare, but I suppose the passengers weren't complaining.

Thanks for the post. Very interesting!

Hey, at least the meal service on Air Force One hasn't been "enhanced" away.

I read that six of the 14 reporters that went were from Fox News. Is that so?

According to Mike Allen's notes there were 13 news staff on board: "writers from The Associated Press, Reuters and Bloomberg, plus the newspaper pooler; photographers from AP, Reuters, AFP, Time and Newsweek; and a correspondent, producer and two-person crew from Fox" Just one "reporter" from Fox - their turn in the pool (although CNN is frosted - guess the world doesn't revolve around CNN after all).

And to those who wonder if it's just too "convenient" that Fox was on deck, remember that the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, and especially Reuters aren't exactly pro-administration, and they were on the plane.

thirteen would be the correct number. Here's the link to the article, orginally printed in the Washington Post:

http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/7366658.htm

See the third paragragh from the bottom.

JP

edited to add: interesting that this is actually the same reporter from the Post--Drudge printed his notes rather than the actual Post article.

The reason why FOX was chosen was that Thursday is FOX's day to be the pool reporter. As the event was to happen on Thursday it would be their turn.
