HELP! 727s?!
I need all FT help here... My son has become very interested in flying... I am certain I had nothing to do with it! In any event, he has challenged himself to fly on as many Boeing aircraft, as possible. He knows the 707 is pretty much out. But there are several 727s still out there. Does anyone know of any commercially operated ones... that are not in Africa?
I appreciate any help or thoughts!

Champion Air flies 727s. I believe many of the air cargo carriers fly the 727 (in addition to the DC8) if he can somehow get a ride (you can always box him up and ship him somewhere).

From http://www.championair.com
Champion provides the 'air' portion of the 'air / land' packages sold by vacation package wholesalers and does not sell tickets directly to the public. Champion Air works with major vacation wholesalers such as Apple Vacations of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and MLT Vacations of Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota. If you are planning a vacation, the professionals at either organization can work with you to put together the perfect holiday!

A couple of years ago we flew an Apple Vacations charter to the Dominican Republic. The plane was a UPS 727 freighter that was fitted out with passeger seats for the weekend. Except for the cargo hatch on the side it was hard to tell what it's "day job" was (we entered and left through a normal passenger door).

Feel like a trip to Indonesia? Looks like Merpati still operates daily 727 service between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Just remember the song (with apologies to Leslie Gore) ...

Merpati was infamous for cancelling flights that weren't full...
