Spring break 2004 suggestions...

I need some good recomendations...

I want to travel with a group of about 15-20 close friends somewhere the last 2 weeks of March 2004.

We want to go to a beach area, but want to stray away from the obvious, touristy places. We would probably be leaving from SFO/OAK or maybe even LAX, depending on how much cheaper the tickets were...

some of us have suggested going to Cancun but spending most of our time at Playa Del Carmen, costa rica, puerto rico, belize...

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a nice, hidden, on the low end airfare place we could all go to and have some relaxing fun on the beach during the day, but party it up at night?

all suggestions are welcomed!

If I were on the West Coast with a large group, I'd immediately be thinking Kauai. Probably not the cheapest ticket (although the higher cost is worth it IMHO) and not a traditional spring break party scene, but the beaches are unbeatable and the activities you can do as a group are unique and diverse. And if you have fifteen people, any decent bar becomes a good party scene!
