Hideaways International

Got a blurb from these folks. Essentially, they have a magazine and "catalog" of propertys you can rent for vacations.

They seem legit and have been in business since 1979.

Wondering if anyone here has used their services or knows any more about them.

I was a member for a few years, I think it was $50 or so.

Problem was I was traveling for biz so often that I was racking up TONS of hotel points, so we would redeem these points for hotels rather than using the Hideaways properties.

I was thinking of joining again now that I do not travel for business much anymore (no hotel points) and our family is going to Puerto Rico this Spring. There are sooooo many house/villa/condo listings online that it seemed foolish to pay the fee for the Hideaways listing. I would guess that this is the case for many different areas of the world.

Our travel style does also not fit into the Hideaways program. Almost all properties required a full week at the property. We rarely are in the same place for more than 3-4 nights so that did not work for us.

Also as a twosome the $ was just too high for the properties we wanted IMO.

This spring trip will be w/my parents, brother's family and my wife&I. Then pricing becomes reasonable.

I remember subscribing to the Hideaways Report many years ago. I believe they are the same. They were excellent sources for high-end properties around the world. I had great success finding some great places with them.
