Master Airport list of TSA $#%*
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...ML/010390.html
In the spirit of the thread above, I thought I would start a new one that listed the just airport codes and two of most inconsistant TSA policies out there. I refer to them as A) The multiple, totally useless, ID check. You know the procedure. Check id at the counter. Check id to get the security line. Check id to get one the plane routine. B) The totally useless "Remove your shoes" rule. Either the "Everyone remove your shoes rule" or the even more useless "1 inch thick" rule. See above thread for details. The above comments are a nice way of writing how I really feel... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif |
LAX

SDF
ID hell = no Shoe hell = depends Will update as I travel... ------------------ "Give me Liberty or give me Death." - Patrick Henry |
DEN is shoe hell.

LAX is ID hell?? No way. Only time you show it if you only carry on bags is at security checkpoint. If you check bags, then you show it when you check the bag as well.
|
Unfortunately, the tSA can't even maintain consistancy at a single checkpoint in any airport but, here are my entries:
BWI Concourse C ID hell - no Shoe hell - no MIA ID hell - yes Shoe hell - no ------------------ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Ben Franklin |

OKC ID Hell - Yes once to check bag, once to get in TSA line, once to LEAVE TSA line (less than 30 feet from first check) Shoe Hell - Yes with all types |

ID Hell -- yes. I showed my ID and boarding pass to a TSA person before entering the checkpoint. Had to show the boarding pass to another person that was no more 15 feet away from the first (and in clear line of sight.) Shoe Hell -- yes. (I saw them make a lady take off her sandals.) |
I think the prize goes to HNL in March, when the metal detector "attendant" had to write her initials on each boarding card. The line took forever.
I'm yet to see the rationale behind having a Huntleigh rent-a-cop see my ID to enter the security queue only to have to present it two seconds later to a "real" TSA agent, then again at the metal detector. It's like something out of Saturday Night Live. |
BDL (AA/DL checkpoint)

And then yes, again to "exit" the security check area--as if the ID changed through the X-Ray machine. |
